Emergency services set to showcase life-saving skills on Sunday 8th September

An action packed Emergency Services Day is set to take place again this year on Sunday 8th September.

Each year the annual event attracts thousands of people to watch the emergency crews in action as they show us how they tackle fires, manage riots, dog handling demonstrations and all services come together for a crash scenario where they cut casualties out of their vehicles.

The day will also see the Furness Coastguard, Bay Search and Rescue, Duddon Search and Rescue, amongst many other life-saving organisations, all on hand to talk about their roles and demonstrate their life-saving equipment.

The event will take place from 11am - 4pm at Barrow Police Station and Barrow Fire Station with different demonstrations throughout the day.

Everyone is welcome to attend for free and parking is available on surrounding streets.
