Fudstock@Home to take place on 29th August
Popular local music festival Fudstock is back for 2020 with another fantastic line up and the team has creatively responded to the COVID crisis by moving the festival online.
The team made the difficult decision in June, that following COVID regulations, a physical festival couldn’t go ahead this year. Their top priority throughout the planning stages was the health of the community. There was wide spread disappointment at the cancellation and this led to the idea of staging Fudstock@Home as a virtual festival that people could enjoy safely from their own homes and gardens.
The Fudstock team are collaborating with two huge names on the local music scene, The Lock In and BUMS and will have an impressive 28 acts across two live streams running from midday to midnight on the 29th August. Local acts are an essential part of the festival, and again this year there are a host of the best local bands and DJs throughout the day and night. Following the success of their performance in 2019, the Complete Stone Roses will be on the line up along with some top DJs from around the world and a very special performance from EEVAH (Rick McNamara and Nicole Hope Smith). Whether you like indie, hip hop, house music, rock & roll or acoustic music - Fudstock@Home has something for you.
As always, the Fudstock philosophy is about joining in, having a great time and supporting St Mary’s Hospice. St Mary’s has been providing essential services to the local community throughout the COVID crisis, but with the closure of retail stores and the cancellation of summer events their opportunity for fundraising has been seriously impacted. Fudstock is proud to support them and the courageous and caring work they do. The team are encouraging people to buy Fudstock@Home merchandise such as banners and T-shirts and decorate their homes and gardens to have a real festival experience at home. Merchandise is available here until 24th August with all proceeds going to St Mary’s Hospice. All donations made in lieu of tickets will also be donated to St Mary’s Hospice.
