Furness Coastguard assist female with suspected broken ankle on Bardsea beach
Furness Coastguard were paged this afternoon at 14:45 to reports of a female with a suspected broken ankle, requiring extrication from the sands at Bardsea.
The team made their way to scene to assist the North West Ambulance Service in stabilising the casualty and then carrying her off using a stretcher.
Furness Coastguard said: "We truly hope the casualty makes a full, speedy recovery, and if you do ever find yourself in difficulty or requiring assistance its always better to call us too soon, rather than too late."
