Kind family who recently moved to Walney make £500 donation to the Round House Hub
A very kind husband and wife who has recently moved to Walney popped in the Round House Hub & Cafe today with a red envelope containing a Christmas card and a cheque for £500.
There was also a note in the envelope which said: "We are recent arrivals to living on Walney and meeting people at the Round House has enabled us to feel part of the community.
"We regularly visit with our grandson Max after school on a Friday. He is autistic and chats to everyone and they are very accommodating of his unusual conversations. He looks forward to his visits and exchanges books and DVDs each week.
"It is a lovely project and we wish you every success."
Matt Blackburn, Operations Manager of ZEST said: "The support from the community is amazing and we cannot thank Neil and Hilary enough for their very kind donation. The money will be used to buy sensory equipment in the new year once our activity room has been refurbished, work is hopefully due to start in January. Once the building works have been completed we will arrange regular autism friendly sessions, bringing more people together to enjoy use of the hub and make new friends."
