Locals experience three days in the life of a firefighter
Fun and exciting challenges for all as local people experience three days in the life of a firefighter.
Furness Forward Fest is a summer programme lead by Drop Zone and partners to help young people achieve their potential through fun, enjoyable activities, and part of the programme includes fire fighting.
Stepping into the shoes of a firefighter is a brilliant way to see exactly what these fantastic people do every day, and to learn all about breathing apparatus, fire fighting, pumps, ladders, heart start, communication and team building, etc. Community engagement at its best.
Cath Corkill said: "I can't begin to describe how amazing these young people are. A 3 day Fire Fighting course isn't easy. They all worked really hard and deserve all the accolation and certificates they received. Also a huge thank you to the Fire Service and the cadets for facilitating the course. Amazing🔥🚒👨🚒👏👏👏 "
