Musician thanks kind locals for supporting first Gig4Life event
Local bass player Malcolm Hartley wanted to personally thank everyone that supported their recent fundraising music event.
Malcolm said “On behalf of Gig4Life Furness & South Lakes, I am delighted to announce that we raised a total of £842 for Cancer Research UK. This would not have been possible without the help, support and generosity of the many people involved in making it a huge success and my grateful thanks go out to my fellow committee members, Bob Qazi, Monica Dalton and Leslie Harris.
“Thanks also to the organisations who advertised and promoted the event including HuddleHub, CandoFM and the North Western Evening Mail.
“To the very kind companies that donated raffle prizes and to the performers who took part and waived their normal fee, SLRS band of tutors and students, John Halligan the local and well known Elvis impersonator, and to Route 66 Legacy. Hawcoat Sports and Leisure Club who provided their facilities free of charge and especially to all the people that attended the event. Thank you all for your generous support”
The next Gig4Life events will be in early August and late November.
