No matter what the weather Dalton Girls Under 14's Football team shines!
Dalton girls under 14’s football team have got what it takes to shine, no matter what the weather.
Andy Bickle, the team’s coach and manager said: “One of the only positive things to come out of this awful pandemic is that we got to play in last year’s under 13’s South Lakes FA Cup final, which is a new competition.
"It’s the first ever League Cup that has been played for under thirteen year olds.
We went up against Lancaster at the Millennium Fields in Kendal and played in torrential rain. The girls were fantastic and won the match scoring 5-2, and despite the terrible weather conditions we collected another trophy.
"Due to COVID-19 we've only managed three training sessions this season, so it was a big ask, but the girls are really passionate about playing and exceeded my expectations. I’m so proud of them.
With goals from Chloe Evans in her final game for the team, after travelling from Preston every weekend to play for Dalton for the last two seasons.
Also on the score sheet was Honor Frith, along with a first hatrick for Emily Ritchie.
