Sea Cadet and Rotary Club collaboration helps to raise mental health awareness
Barrow Sea Cadets have formed new partnership with the Rotary Club of Furness.
Barrow Sea Cadets were presented with a certificate to formally start up their INTERACT Club on Tuesday evening.
Working alongside the Rotary Club within the community the Cadets will help to create a project which will benefit local children or adults.
The Cadets have chosen to work with the Samaritans, a helpline for anyone who needs someone to talk to or is having suicidal thoughts.
They plan to visit local schools and deliver workshops where they will deliver engaging sessions to the children on the importance of mental health and wellbeing. The workshops will start around September time and will last for a number of weeks.
If you are aged 10-18 and would like to join the Cadets you can meet with them on Tuesdays and Fridays from 19:00-21:00 at the unit headquarters on Dundee Street in Barrow.
