The largest parade in years is set to make it's way through Barrow on Saturday!
This Saturday (22nd June) will see two parades merge into one in Barrow Town Centre.
The Armed Forces Parade and the Barrow Carnival Parade are set to start at opposite ends of Duke Street and meet at Barrow Library on Saturday at 12 noon.
Crowds will gather on the streets as the amazing parade makes its way down Abbey Road.
The Armed Forces Parade will leave the Carnival Parade at the Duke of Edinburgh and make its way to the Legion Club on Holker Street, whilst the Carnival Parade continues into Barrow Park via Park Avenue.
TOP TIP: The best place to view the parade is between Barrow Library and The Duke of Edinburgh Hotel.
This year the carnival parade will welcome back the fabulous dancing troupes along with the Milnthorpe Steel Band and St Andrews Pipe Band, all of which haven't been in the Barrow Carnival Parade since 2012! Along with other local businesses and organisations taking part, this is certainly a parade not to be missed.
Road Closures will be in place on Duke Street, Abbey Road and Park Avenue whilst the parade passes through.
Following the parade a spectacular Dance Gala will take place in Barrow Park, where the dancing troupes will show you their amazing moves. There will also be stalls, Taylors Funfairs, food concessions, etc. Entry is £2 per adult (includes programme) and under 16's are free.
And that's not all... On Sunday the event field will be open from 12 noon and will be a fun filled day once again with the fabulous Barrow Colour Run starting at 1pm and displays from KOW Wrestling and Cumbria Pole Art and other live displays and music from 12 - 5pm.
Also on Sunday, all of the Soapbox carts will be on display for you to see!
